Privacy, without fog.
Fulmar.org has no accounts, contact forms, newsletter or advertising. Optional analytics stays off unless you allow it. This notice explains the small amount of technical data used to deliver, secure and understand the site.
Effective and last updated: 9 September 2026
Who is responsible
Fulmar.org is operated as an independent software project in the United Kingdom. The Fulmar project operator is the controller for optional website analytics. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to privacy@fulmar.org.
Essential delivery and security
The site is hosted behind Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP address, browser and device information, request metadata and security signals to deliver the page, prevent abuse and keep the service available. This processing is necessary to provide and secure the site.
| Storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare bot detection and traffic protection. It does not correspond to a Fulmar user account. | 30 minutes after inactivity |
fulmar-analytics-consent | Local browser storage containing your analytics choice, the notice version and the time chosen. | Up to 180 days |
Optional Google Analytics
If you choose “Allow analytics”, Fulmar loads Google Analytics 4. It may record page views, scrolls, outbound clicks, broad device and browser details and approximate location. Fulmar does not enable Google advertising, personalisation or Google Signals. Email redaction is active in the Analytics stream, and the site does not ask visitors to submit personal information.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes browsers for aggregate site measurement. | Up to 180 days from consent |
_ga_<container-id> | Persists Google Analytics session state. | Up to 180 days from consent |
Your consent is the basis for this optional processing. Google Analytics event-level data is configured for two months and user data for fourteen months; standard aggregated reports may be kept for longer. Google may process data outside the United Kingdom under the safeguards described in its terms and privacy documentation.
Your choice and rights
Declining analytics does not reduce access to the site. Use the “Analytics settings” control on any page to change or withdraw your choice; withdrawing removes Fulmar's Google Analytics cookies where the browser permits it. You can also clear site data in your browser.
UK data-protection rights may include access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
Providers and further information
This notice will be updated if the site adds a form, mailing list, account, new analytics purpose or another service that changes how visitor data is used.
